My internship at MCS was an incredible experience from the start. I was introduced into a team of highly motivated individuals who were passionate about their work and committed to achieving outstanding results for their clients and the community. The team culture was exceptional, and everyone was always willing to lend a helping hand, share their knowledge, and provide guidance when needed. The intern program at MCS is well-structured, with a clear focus on providing a tailored experience to complement our academic. Through this program I had the opportunity to work on the Opportunity Project, which involved researching and exploring the future of Defence Industry Research & Technology. Throughout my internship, I was entrusted with meaningful work and challenging projects that allowed me to develop my skills, work closely with senior team members, and gain valuable insights and guidance.

Through my internship at MCS, through DIIP, I have gained invaluable insight into a career as a professional engineer in the project management space. MCS tasked me with managing an internal company project where, as the Project Manager, I had to engage directly with key stakeholders, managing their conflicting needs to design numerous solution options and provide my recommendation to the project board before gaining approval to progress forward with detailed product design. This task allowed me to apply the theory that the university had taught whilst also developing my skills in project management in a practical sense. Overall, DIIP was a fantastic experience, allowing me to gain real-world engineering experience that a university cannot offer. MCS was able to tailor my 12-week internship to specifically reflect my future career aspirations. Ultimately, making the program extremely rewarding as I gained experience in an area of interest.

MCS has provided me with valuable opportunities for both personal and professional growth. Through their programs, I was able to enhance my skills in project management and explore various programming languages. The organization has offered me a conducive environment to navigate my career path as an engineer and discover different avenues available to me. With the support of my colleagues and managers, I am confident in my ability to take on any challenge and succeed. My participation in the DIIP Program was a fantastic experience. MCS tailored a project to provide me with hands-on experience in writing governance documents, which not only introduced me to project management but also equipped me with the skills to write effective documents for future use. Additionally, I had the opportunity to engage with seasoned professionals in the engineering industry who provided me with insightful tips on achieving my career aspirations.

During my DIIP sponsored engineering internship at MCS, I had an incredibly enriching experience that provided me with invaluable opportunities for personal and professional growth. The internship exposed me to a diverse range of technologies, expanding my knowledge and skills in the field. One standout experience was the chance to design and build a software prototype, which required proficiency in various programming languages, operating systems, and cutting-edge technologies like machine vision cameras. This project immersed me in a challenging environment that allowed me to develop my abilities in unfamiliar domains. The experienced employees at MCS were always supportive and eager to share their insights, providing me with invaluable solutions and best practices in project management and software development. Despite encountering numerous obstacles throughout the internship, I was able to overcome them and witness the rewarding outcomes of my efforts when the software prototype came to life.
